Many become disappointed and disillusioned because their dreams and plans never come true. These people continue on and on, seeking the "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow", or for fame that always eludes them, or for pleasures that are always beyond their reach. They build air castles that crumble, live in an unreal world, and most the time in mental, physical, or spiritual misery. They are unwilling to admit to themselves their limitations. Many attempt to appease their dilemma by using alcohol, drugs, sex, and other worldly pleasures which may work for a time, but soon wreck their lives and leave them in desperation.
They are like the man that had a masters in mechanical engineering; he wanted above everything to be an inventor. Instead of getting a job, he rented a small farm, and lived in a small tenant house in dire poverty. His wife and daughter tended the farm most of the time, while the man worked on one project after another, trying to invent one item that he could secure a patent and market. He died without ever succeeding. You see, he probably was a good engineer, but not a good inventor. He had fantastic ideas, but none ever worked. His dreams brought only hardship and disappointment...a wasted life was the result. Many people in the past, as well as the present, are living an unrealistic life.
To have a full and contented life, one must face the facts of life. One must realize their limitations as well as their God-given talents to accomplish that which is important and satisfying, and pursue them with vigor.
Let's consider a way to have a full and contented life without undue frustrations and unhappiness
The First Step
We need to know the purpose for which we are, how we as humans got here in the first place, and where we are going. What is our destiny?
The Bible gives us all the answers. But to know, we must believe that the Bible is God's word, that all of it is true, that it was written as God inspired men to write over a period of several hundred years yet without contradiction. Men of God wrote as that Holy Spirit moved them. We must also believe that God that the Bible is the living, everlasting Word of God; the Bible contains the Mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, future happiness of believers; its doctrines are Holy, its precepts are binding. By reading the Bible a person becomes wise and to believe the Bible one becomes safe. Practice it to be Holy. The Bible is a Holy Book, written by a Holy God.
The purpose of the Bible is given to us in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the Man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. So, to have a full happy and contented life, we must believe that the Bible is the Divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God.
When one truly believes the Bible to be the message from the Holy, all-powerful, eternal God, then they have no problem with the question of how we got here. Genesis 1:23 gives us the answer. One cannot accept the realities of life unless they believe that God created man and all other things. One must believe that God is sole Creator to know God's purpose for us in life.
Isaiah 43:7 tells us two things: First it tells us that God made man and woman "for His glory"; second, it tells us what our relationship should be with God..."But now, O Lord, thou art our Father, we are the clay, and thou art the potter and we are the work of thy hand." God created man and woman for fellowship. This was God's purpose for our life, that we might have a loving relationship with God the Father.
Millions of God's people throughout the ages have given us the undaunted evidence of the marvelous event of creation. The Old Testament tell us about our origin and the New Testament confirms it. The Bible story of the creation is as realistic, it is as true, it is as real as life itself to those who know God through his son Jesus.
Remain blessed
