Does God know who you are?
You may wonder about my subject for this post because obviously God knows who we are. He said in his word that he knows the number of hairs on our heads but today we're speaking about the end times when Jesus comes back to separate the righteous from the unrighteous.
Let's look at Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
We see many people in this day in time who proclaim God's Word but at the end of the day, will God know who you are when he returns? I don't know about you but I don't want to go through all I go through on a daily basis just to hear God say, depart from me, I know you not. Christians have to be mindful of their motives. We have to examine why we do what we do and who we do it for. God doesn't give us our gifts and talents so that we can be exalted; he gives us gifts and talents so that HE can be exalted.
Too many ministers, pastors, teachers, etc. start thinking that they have it all together because people pat them on the back but Does God know who you are? What a shame it will be to have all types of honor and prestige on this earth just to hear God say, "Depart from me, I know you not". After reading the above scriptures, I had to really check myself. I begin to ask the Lord to purify my motives, help me seek to please you first and not man. I asked the Lord, "Please Lord, don't let my running be in vain". When I stand before God, I want to hear him say, "Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord"!
In conclusion, Christians need to realize that God made us to glorify HIM and to upbuild HIS Kingdom. There's nothing wrong with people complimenting you and your ministry, but don't allow those compliments to block your perspective of who you are and whose you are! Let us pray: Father God in the name of Jesus, Lord I humble myself before you right now and I ask that you will search me Lord...purify my motives...help me seek to please you in everything I do. Lord God, help me to realize that I was created to glorify you and you said if I humble myself, that you will exalt me in due time. So Lord help me to patiently wait on you to exalt me and help me not try to exalt myself. Lord help me understand that it's all about you and not about me....Not my will Lord but your will be done. These blessings we ask in your name, AMEN!
Remain blessed!
